Solution Oriented Coaching
We have a strong belief that the only effective way for a client is to work on solutions not problems. We believe that you as an individuals have more than enough experience and strengths at our disposal in order to develop solutions for even the most complex questions or challenges. Only if you develop a solution yourself, you will take ownership, responsibility, and be motivated to successfully put it into action. Moreover, you will be able to reproduce the solution and even transfer your success to other, more complex situations.
Solution Oriented Coaching is based on the work of Steve De Shazer in the early 1980’s. It had become clear that specific knowledge about a problem well enabled a consultant to understand the root causes, however, did not get the client anywhere near a long-lasting solution. In Solution Oriented Coaching however, clients learn to build self-confidence and appreciate their own resources and strengths to construct a solution.
The approach we use has an enduring positive effect on a coachee’s self-reliance and motivation. Based on a long-term reframing of self-perception and learned attitudes, the individual is able to face challenges more positively and utilize their own experience competently and constructively to reach long-term success.
